Teaching  Plan

Teaching objective:

To strengthen the sentence “Where is my pencil?” and the direction nouns: under  in  on

To learn the sentences “Excuse me. Can I use …? No problem.”

Important points and difficult points:

To strengthen the sentence “Where is my pencil?” and the direction nouns: under  in  on

To explain the meaning of “Excuse me ” and “No problem ”

To understand the difference of “Here it is” and “it’s here”

Materials:

teacher pictures  toys(plane/car)  a box  schoolthings

Teaching Process

u      Warm up/Revision

1.Sing a song : If you happy

2.Play the tape <1>Unit 2 B-Let’s chant

3.Take out a book and a pencil. Review the sentences(A-Let’s talk):

          Where is my pencil?  It’s on the book.

          Where is my pencil?  It’s in the book.

          Where is my pencil?  It’s under the book.

  Change the things to a box and a car, say them again.

4. Simon says: show me your pencil/pen/eraser…

Practise the sentences in pair.

u      Presentation

1.Take away S1’s pencil, then hide it. S1 closes his eyes first , then opens           his eyes and asks: Where is my pencil? Take out the pencil, say “Look, it’s here. Under the …

  Use the same way to S2, S3 to practise the dialog.

2.Divide the class into group A and group B. Group A ask “Where is my…” Group B answer “Look, it’s here. …” The teacher does the action.

 Chang it (Q&A)

3.Show a pen which is no ink, then ask S4 who has a pen. “Excuse me. Can I use your pen?” S4 maybe says “O.K.” The teacher guides to say “No problem.” Explain the meaning of “ No problem.

   Use other schoolthings to practise the dialog

4.Toss the ball, to practise it

     A: Can I use your …?

     B: No problem.

5.Have Ss open their books. Turn to page 43. Listen and repeat.

u      Practise

1.Divide the class into group A(girl) and group B(boy). Group A act as John, group B act as Amy. Read the dialogs. Then change the roles.

2.Have 4-6 students go to the board to perform.

3.Hide and seek

Place a pencil on the teacher’s desk. Have four Ss face back. Hide the pencil. Other Ss ask “ Where is my pencil?” The four Ss try to find it. The first student to find the hidden pencil is awarded.

     Do the same to other schoolthings.

4.learn a song
